As part of the tradition, we will be holding the Mohammed Islam Design Award (MIDA) at the WFTO Summit in Berlin 2022.
WHAT IS THE MIDA AWARD?
The WFTO Design Award was introduced at the 2001 Arusha Global Conference to commemorate the life of the late Mohammed Islam, tragically killed in a road accident in Ghana. Mohammed Islam was an Oxfam Bridge Project Officer who encouraged networking between Fair Trade enterprises, inspiring the formation of ECOTA Forum Bangladesh and Fair Trade Group Nepal in particular and grassroots producer empowerment more generally.
He believed that good, innovative design and the production of high quality products was the key to marketing success.
WHAT IS THE 2022 THEME?
This 2022 edition we are focusing on products that are made in a truly sustainable, circular and climate friendly way, and you will be able to see the products of the 15 finalists displayed at the Summit.
WHO CAN JOIN?
WFTO Guaranteed members are still welcomed to submit their proposal for the award. The deadlines to send submissions is 6 June 2022.
